Hello, I am Cortney and this is my story...

Let's start from the beginning...I have always been the one with a camera in my hand. It all started when my parents bought me my first camera when I was just 10 years old and I absolutely fell in love with capturing moments. I never put it down from that moment on. My story of becoming a professional photographer only just began in that moment. I continued carrying a camera with me all throughout junior high and into high school.  After graduating high school I prayed and prayed about so many colleges and just never had peace about any of them. I wanted to go to college and experience college life but I knew God was leading me elsewhere. Jesus then led me to a verse which says, "As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him." 1 John 2:27. The very moment that I read that verse I knew what God was calling me to do and the great thing about it is He wanted to teach me how to do it. The Lord wanted to anoint my hands to photograph life and teach me every step of the way. I was so excited! So I began my journey as a professional photographer and started a business. The Lord truly taught me important lessons and skills everyday and still is teaching me to this very day. He showed me what to do, how to edit, and use the camera and if I ever found my self not knowing; I would ask and He would show me! He is faithful even today and continues to teach me everything everyday! I am so very thankful He chose me to capture life! A  few  years  after  I  started  the  business  I   just  felt  worn  out. The joy of photographing life was going away and that was very difficult for me. I started to rethink my whole career, my life, my everything. Then one night I was just talking to God and I told Him, "I want to be a photographer, but not just any photographer I want to see people like You see people and photograph what YOU see." From that moment on I dug deeper and deeper into God's LOVE and I began looking at photography as more than a business but a ministry. I don't want to just photograph you, I desire to love you as Jesus loves you, to speak to you as Jesus speaks to you, and to SEE you as Jesus sees you. In capturing you, your friends, and loved ones I truly desire to capture what Jesus sees in you. I cannot tell you I am a self taught photographer because Jesus taught me everything I know, Jesus gave me the strength to never give up, Jesus has given me the passion to photograph the beauty of life. I don't want to just take your  picture; in fact I would love to LOVE you, like Jesus loves you. I want you to feel handsome, beautiful, called of the Lord, YOU have a purpose and YOU are important. I want you to know that. I can never deny that Jesus Christ has given me life and taught me and continues to teach me daily. I hope to meet you and capture moments of your life that you and your loved ones will cherish forever and always. You are LOVED ~ 1 Corinthians 13~

At Capturing Hearts Photography we are here to capture moments that you will cherish forever. Currently located in Tennessee, Capturing Hearts is offering professional photography to Knoxville, Tennessee; Maryville, Tennessee; Greenback, Tennessee; and surrounding areas. Upon request Capturing Hearts is willing to travel with possible additional fees.
